    John O'Brien, CEO and Principal Advisor

With 30 years of experience delivering value through data strategy, architectures, and analytics John has a unique perspective that comes from key roles as a practitioner, consultant, and vendor CTO in the data analytics industry. As a recognized thought leader, he has been publishing articles, teaching, and presenting at conferences in North America and Europe for more than 15 years.

His knowledge in designing, building, and growing enterprise data systems and teams brings real-world insights to each role and phase within a data program. John provides research, strategic advisory services, and mentoring to guide companies in meeting the demands of next-generation data management, architecture, analytics, and emerging technologies.

In 2005, John co-founded and became CTO of a data warehouse appliance company that raised $43 million in several rounds of venture capital financing and has many global production customers. As CTO, John’s primary role was to focus product development and BI market strategy.

John has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from California State University with an emphasis in control systems and data instrumentation. In 2004, he earned an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Colorado.

    Julie Langenkamp, SVP of Applied Research

Julie is responsible for the transformation and growth of Radiant Advisors’ flagship product specifically designed to enable people and companies to be more knowledgeable and confident in executing their enterprise data and analytics strategies. Additionally, Julie leads the new Data Enablement program to complement the existing core Data Strategy and Architecture programs. Data Enablement Applied Research focuses on accelerating companies’ data culture and community growth through empowering people with self-service adoption and data literacy campaigns.

Julie leverages her decades of editorial background in print and digital media as Editor in Chief at leading data management and analytics publications. Since joining Radiant Advisors in 2015, Julie has monitored trends and vendors in the industry to deliver educational, informative resources and to ensure alignment between client needs and the Radiant Advisors research agenda.
